Farmers First Trust participated in the May 13, 2025, Farm Transition Webinar hosted on the First American Exchange Company webinar platform. We are grateful to have been part of the webinar group, and a special thanks to First American Exchange Company for hosting the event.

The purpose of the webinar was to introduce three US tax codes used in farm transition: Section 1031, Section 721, and Section 453.

Ron Rabou of Rabou Farms emceed the event, bringing his deep knowledge of farming and family farm transition to the conversation.

Paul Neiffer, The Farm CPA, provided accounting tax perspectives for each presentation, enriching the discussion with his extensive background in farm accounting.

Bob Goodson of First American Exchange Company shared information about Section 1031, commonly known as the 1031-exchange.

Eric Mueller from Legacy Farmland Fund introduced Section 721 and explained its applications in family farmland transition processes.

Richard Schmitz and Michael Gustafson of Farmers First Trust rounded out the group by discussing the key elements of Section 453, or as we call it MDPT (Monetized Deferred Payment Transaction).
